Manufacturing organizations, labor unions and trade organizations will launch a coalition to educate Americans and elected officials about the consequences of the U.S. trade deficit and to campaign against unfair trade practices, according a media advisory issued Sept. 24. Wilbur L. Ross, chairman of the International Steel Group Inc., was scheduled to announce the coalition -- identified as the Free Trade for America Coalition (Freetac) -- at a news conference this morning, according to the advisory issued by his media representatives. Ross is identified as the founder and chairman of Freetac. He will be joined at the conference by representatives of other member organizations. The advisory says coalition members include steel, textile, glass, copper and brass, cattle, honey and sugar companies, as well as paper, steel and textile unions.
