TBM Consulting Group, which has used shop-floor kaizen events to help manufacturers implement lean manufacturing strategies, has established a new forum to increase understanding of a variety of "lean" disciplines. Located at the consulting firm's Durham, N.C., headquarters, the TBM Institute offers core courses on lean manufacturing, as well as workshops on such topics as managing lean implementation, lean accounting, and the transition to a lean organizational structure. In addition, a series of five-day events on product and production preparation ("3P Kaizen Breakthrough") will focus on the early design phase of a product's life cycle. The institute also will serve as a forum for advanced manufacturing research. For information call 880-438-5535 or visit the Web site: www.tbminstitute.com.
