New Portal Targets Automotive Suppliers

Compiled ByJill Jusko Tier Solutions Inc. has introduced an automotive portal offering a variety of consulting services and business solutions to suppliers. The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based company says the objective of the new portal is to support the interests of the small to midsized automotive supplier, along with the fragmented operations of larger suppliers and OEMs. Tier Solutions Inc.'s current e-business offerings include supply-chain visibility and supplier sourcing tools, and product development best practices. Tier Solutions CEO Dennis Virag says the portal will be adding solutions in quality management, lean manufacturing, business performance management and other areas. The currently available solutions are fully compatible with industry standards. "Tier Solutions has kept the needs of suppliers in mind, particularly those companies that don't need and can't afford the complex, high-end solutions," Virag says. Tier Solutions has nine partners, including three public companies, and is negotiating with others.
