Compiled ByTraci Purdum Oracle Corp.'s Complex Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) application enables companies to integrate with all areas of the supply chain to automate and enhance processes critical to the MRO cycle, according to the Redwood City, Calif.-based enterprise software company. It is a component of Oracle Supply Chain Management. Developed for the aviation and aerospace and defense industries, Oracle Complex MRO is designed to allow airlines, third-party maintenance firms, armed forces, government contractors and OEMs to improve operating efficiencies and streamline business processes, the company says. "As MRO processes become increasingly critical to corporate profitability, companies are looking for comprehensive solutions that can support their complex business operations," says Rick Jewell, Oracle vice president, manufacturing and supply-chain-execution applications. The Web-based solution offers the following functions:
  • Maintain Complex Configurations -- It establishes master configurations to manage component life-cycle tracking. Requirements automatically flow to all units based on the master template, allowing configuration history to be automatically maintained.
  • Optimize Maintenance Execution -- It provides a complete business flow, including creating work orders and deploying resources.
  • Centralize Data -- Users can create, store and manage all data in a single, global repository.
