Having access to the right information when its needed is something every financial executive or manager could benefit from. Yet few software accounting programs deliver the goods.
Now comes Oracle Corp. with its Analysis Wizard, an online report analyzer that promises to improve decision support while helping companies shorten their closing cycles. Users can select individual amounts from spreadsheet reports and "drill down" into the underlying financial details.
The Analysis Wizard accesses the complete range of accounts supporting a particular reported amount, including summary accounts, detail accounts, and journals. The information is tapped in real time, meaning that the user is working with the most accurate and updated data.
The Analysis Wizard is part of the Redwood Shores, Calif.-based software companys ApplicationDesktop Integrator (ADI) family of financial management products. Another new product in the ADI group is reQuest Center, a centralized report management system that enables users to access financial information via a Web browser. cturing plan to seek additional workers in early 1998.
