Compiled By Traci Purdum Selectica Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of interactive selling solutions, and Rapt Inc., a supplier of profit optimization software located in San Francisco, formed a partnership to deliver fully integrated end-to-end pricing solutions that include planning, distribution, execution and deal analysis. The two firms bring to the table their own company-specific solutions that, according to the companies, will enable customers to optimize pricing, perform price negotiations, distribute pricing to all channels and analyze performance. "Price management software on the market today are point solutions, offering either price execution or optimization. Yet, companies struggle to manage the entire pricing lifecycle and oftentimes don't know where to start," says Kosin Huang, senior analyst, The Yankee Group, Boston. "The Selectica-Rapt solution will offer the first comprehensive, enterprise solution for end-to-end pricing in high-tech industries."
