PeopleSoft Inc. on Mar. 30 began offering its latest software release, version 7.5, offering several new capabilities for manufacturers. These include global applications, online analytical processing, treasury, and a guidance package to speed implementation of the software.
Called DirectPath, the module aimed at getting customers up on the software faster is based on a repository of information on best practices for speedy implementation. "DirectPath is our way of taking knowledge we and our service partners have accumulated over the past 10 years and making it available to support the projects our customers are doing today," says Stan Swete, vice president of PeopleTools and Product Strategy.
Some important new improvements for manufacturing include demand planning, quality, order promising, and remote order entry.
