Peters Highlights 2001 AME Conference

Management expert Tom Peters and Duke University basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski will headline the 2001 Assn. For Manufacturing Excellence (AME) conference, Oct. 8-12 in Raleigh-Durham, N.C. The conference will focus on lean practices, according to AME, and will include half-day sessions with Peters, world-renown author of numerous books on management theory and leadership. The program also will address how information technology is changing management. Krzyzewski is author of the book "Leading With The Heart: Coach K's Successful Strategies for Basketball, Business and Life (2001, Warner Books). Other speakers include Lloyd Ward, former chairman and CEO of Maytag Corp.; Nancy Wendorf, a senior project manager at Motorola Corp.; and Donna Shirley, manager of the NASA Mars Exploration program.
