Compiled ByDave Schafer Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals will deploy Phase Forward Inc.'s InForm software as its standard global platform for managing Web-based clinical trials. As part of the agreement, Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati, says it will leverage Phase Forward's solution across selected global clinical programs to speed the collection and management of high-quality trial data. InForm software uses Internet technologies to conduct and manage clinical trials, allowing sponsors to eliminate the need to transcribe and process traditional paper-data forms, to access global clinical-trial data in real-time, and to begin analysis almost immediately after the last patient has visited the clinic, says Waltham, Mass.-based Phase Forward. Ray D'Alonzo, director of worldwide clinical data management, Procter & Gamble, says, "The InForm platform has performed well on pilot studies and more recently on global Phase II studies involving dozens of receptive investigative sites. We are excited about the potential to apply the InForm solution on selected global Phase III programs where we believe the efficiency of Internet data collection will be realized to an even greater extent."
