Rye Brook, N.Y.-based Philip Morris Cos. Inc. announced yesterday that it has committed $2 million in grants to hunger organizations in New York State this year. The announcement was made at "A Forum to Fight Hunger," an event held at the company's headquarters. Representatives from U.S. corporations and hunger agencies were in attendance to discuss how businesses can alleviate the problem of hunger in the U.S. Since 1990, the Philip Morris family of companies has contributed more than $115 million to fight hunger in America, including $34 million in direct grants to hunger and nutrition programs.
