Most large companies are faced with the challenge of converting legacy mainframe information systems to modern Internet/intranet, and client server platforms. Remediation is typically addressed by either manually changing portions of existing systems (i.e. data fields), completely rewriting these systems, or replacing them with new packaged solutions. Enter RescueWare from Relativity Technologies Inc., an automated solution for preserving legacy applications. According to the company, RescueWare provides fully integrated workflow to inventory, analyze, and transform the solution via a graphical, Windows-based interface. The system converts COBOL, and other legacy languages to modern languages such as Java, C++, and Visual Basic.
