Compiled ByTraci Purdum Cyclone Commerce Inc., a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based provider of collaborative community management solutions, is offering a 30-day free trial of its electronic trading Web site Cyclone Activator. The Web site acts as a trading hub for consumer packaged goods companies and retail businesses, providing connection to trading partners using any data type or security protocol.. "Consumer packaged goods suppliers and retailers are moving their trading platforms to the Internet . . . to improve narrow margins, for competitive advantages and because of mandates from major players in the industry," says Hollis Bischoff, vice president of eBusiness Strategies at META Group, a Stamford, Conn.-based information technology research and consulting firm. "For many of these companies, using a trusted vendor with domain expertise in connecting scores of suppliers to major discount retailers, regional grocers and others is a priority." Cyclone solutions provides services to several companies including Gillette, Pfizer, Unilever, HPCompaq and Procter & Gamble.
