It may only be December, but plans already are well under way for Supply-Chain World-North America 2005 Conference & Exposition, slated for Anaheim, Calif., April 4-6, 2005. It will be held at the Disneyland Hotel. The conference is titled "Enabling Profitable Customer Satisfaction through Supply-Chain Integration." The preliminary program includes keynote addresses by Bill Patrizio, senior vice president of strategic sourcing and procurement at the Walt Disney Co., and Yossi Sheffi, director of the Center for Transportation and Logistics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Sheffi, who is also a professor of civil and environmental engineering systems, will discuss the difficulty of forecasting and how leading companies are managing risks by designing more robust and responsive supply chains. The event also includes numerous breakout sessions that address topics such as supply-chain challenges in China, supply chains in aerospace and defense, ethical leadership in supply-chain operations, and service supply chains. Additional information about Supply-Chain World-North America, organized by the Supply-Chain Council, is available at the conference Web site.
