Textron Automotive, Jackson Plastics Join Forces In Joint Venture

Compiled byGina Protopapa Textron Automotive Co., Troy, Mich., and Jackson Plastics Inc., a minority-owned automotive supplier based in Nicholasville, Ky., have established Synova Plastics LLC, a joint venture company that will supply automotive interior-trim components. The new company will be based in Morristown, Ind., and Henry Jackson, who founded Jackson Plastics in 1994, will serve as president. Both partners will staff the new company. Additionally, Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America already has awarded Synova Plastics its first contract. Synova Plastics will supply interior trim for the 2002 model-year Toyota Camry produced at Toyota's Georgetown, Ky., plant. Full production on that program is scheduled for July 2001. Textron Automotive is a business segment of Textron Inc.
