Tool Evaluates Automation In Warehouse

Compiled By Jill Jusko A new tool offered by the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) says it aids organizations in evaluating automation for their warehouses. The software tool, called Throughput Models for Carousels and Vertical Lift Modules, asks a series of questions designed to help determine how warehouse space and personnel can be maximized using automated storage and retrieval systems. The tool is free for download at www.mhia.org/bs/cvlm or can be purchased on a CD-ROM for $19.95. The product was announced by the MHIA's Automated Storage/Automated Retrieval Systems Product Section, a group whose members represent suppliers of automated-storage-and-retrieval-systems technology applications. The MHIA is headquartered in Charlotte, N.C.
