UGS, a Plano, Texas-based provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software, and INCAT, a Novi, Mich.-based provider of information lifecycle management, are offering their Teamcenter-based solution for multi-computer-aided-design (CAD) engineering process management. The offering, INCAT Multi-CAD Express, unifies designs from diverse CAD systems into a single, manageable system focused on improving engineering process management, according to the companies. Teamcenter's CAD data management capability manages UGS products such as Unigraphics NX, I-deas NX Series and Solid Edge, as well as offers support for CATIA V4 and V5, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Inventor Series. "Teamcenter's multi-CAD support reduces development costs by enabling an extended enterprise to leverage their investments in current CAD systems and data," says Steve Bashada, vice president of Teamcenter Applications, UGS. "These capabilities have a proven track record and enable manufacturers -- including large OEMs, suppliers and smaller engineering groups -- to reduce product lifecycle costs, compress product development cycles and leverage global engineering resources to reduce time-to-market."
