Warning: Reregister Russian Domain Names Or Lose Them

Every company that has and intends to keep a Russian Web domain name has to reregister it into the new Russian domain system, warns Jan Kallberg, director of intellectual property services, Netnames USA, New York. The existing Russian domain system will be restructured, and all current domains that are not re-registered by Nov. 1, 1998, will be deleted, adds Kallberg. He says that the Russian registry has not maintained client identities and dates accurately when registries were made. To change this, the Russian domain system is undergoing a complete overhaul.
