Weirton Steel Corp., Weirton, W. Va., has announced the retirement, effective Apr. 1, of Craig T. Costello, executive vice president-manufacturing and chief operating officer. Costello also held a seat on the company's board of directors. "Craig gave 34 years of superb service to the company," says Richard K. Riederer, president and CEO. "His experience in operations and knowledge of the manufacturing process were a valuable combination in both the mill and board room." Costello joined Weirton Steel in 1966. Since then he held various supervisory positions within the mill, gaining additional responsibilities with each new assignment. In 1993 Costello reached executive management ranks when he was named vice president-operations. One year later he was appointed executive vice president-manufacturing, and in 1997 chief operating officer was added to his title.
