Workshop Addresses Supply-Chain Basics

APICS -- The Educational Society for Resource Management will hold a workshop Aug. 20-22 that covers the basics of supply-chain management. The course addresses industry fundamentals and provides a comprehensive overview of successful manufacturing strategies. It also will examine the relationships between master planning, inventory management, forecasting, just-in-time manufacturing, material requirements planning, capacity management, distribution, production activity control, total quality management and purchasing. The course is designed both for industry newcomers and those seeking to advance into management roles, according to APICS. The workshop will be held in Wilmerding, Pa.
