Xfactory Leverages Windows NT

With visual object modeling, Xfactory, the new manufacturing execution system (MES) from USDATA, Richardson, Tex., enables manufacturers to integrate multiple production areas, inventory management, scheduling, planning, and business management into a single environment. Users can model, configure, and define applications for their plant by using simple point, click, drag, and drop methods. The company says monitoring plant processes is as simple as using a standard Windows-style Explorer. Based on Windows NT, the system is designed to be scaleable from the smallest to the most complex manufacturing installations. The company emphasizes benefits in implementation time, simplified process improvement, process visibility, cost of ownership, and enhanced information flow.
