Cool Thing Of The Day: Facebook Privacy Scanner

I know that Facebook-bashing seems like a theme for me (here's a recent post entitled "Why you shouldn't trust Facebook") but I just had yet another bad experience at the hands of the world's largest social networking site. Basically, Facebook started sharing my information without my permission with Yelp, another website I use, and I had to go through a time-consuming privacy-restoring exercise just to return myself to where I had started.

Anyway, here's a link to ReclaimPrivacy.org, which (in their words "provides an independent and open tool for scanning your Facebook privacy settings"). I just tried it, and even a privacy hawk like myself found a "contacts" setting that needed locking down.
