Earlier this week, NASA Scientist and global warming proponent James Hansen was awarded the prestigious 2012 Edinburgh Medal for his advocacy and activism surrounding the issue of climate change.

In his remarks accepting the prestigious accolade, Hansen said:

"It is immoral for us to leave to the next generation a planet whose climate is spiralling out of control. I believe it is an issue of intergenerational justice we can only pretend we don't understand what is happening around us."

His most recent comments are only the latest in Hansen's nearly quarter century campaign to fight the forces of CO2 creation and fossil fuels.

In January 2009, Hansen advised the newly elected President Barack Obama:

"We have to get on a new path within this new administration. We have only four years left for Obama to set an example to the rest of the world. America must take the lead."

Earth to President Obama: time is running out.

2013 is coming quick- and it seems little is being done to avert the looming Apocalypse.

Even worse, I'm planning to take my wife to Hawaii for our anniversary next February.

I need to know now if I should start booking this trip.

Or, instead, should I start stocking up on canned food, bottled water, and shotgun shells?

Please, somebody, do something!
