Canadian aviation giant Bombardier on Feb. 5 announced it would cut 1,360 jobs or 4.5% of its workforce amid slumping sales of business aircraft.
The company said that with business aircraft demand expected to be off 10% this year it would be reducing output of its Learjet and Challenger models.
The workers include 1,010 temporary employees and 350 permanent staff. Staff cuts were to hit Bombardier Aeronautique in Montreal; Wichita, Kansas; and Belfast, the company said.
