Good work is sometimes recognized, as Dell Inc. learned when it received DaimlerChrysler' AG global supplier of the year award at the 2006 North American International Auto Show. Recognition was based on outstanding performance as an international provider of workstations, enterprise servers and storage systems.

"We consider the support of our supply base to be an indispensable contribution to DaimlerChrysler's success in today's automotive marketplace," said Thomas W. Sidlik, a DaimlerChrysler AG Board of management member, responsible for global procurement and supply.

Winners are chosen based on performance in quality, technology, supply and systems cost.

In addition to hardware, Dell provides planning, implementation and maintenance capabilities to DamilerChrysler. These services include managed lifecycle and deployment services including Custom Factory Integration, help desk support, program management and asset recovery services.
