Logistics in Europe just got easier thanks to Dr. Bert Bong, manager of finished vehicle logistics at Ford Europe. He has mapped out the finished vehicle network for the continent of Europe in a move to optimize vehicle logistics. In this highly congested and competitive transport environment, his map will allow all companies, not just auto companies, the opportunity to develop new synergies to create the most efficient transport system possible.
Dr. Bong sees a more direct route to cost savings and improvements when OEMs work together and encourage their suppliers to do the same. Dr. Bong officially launched this initiative at the Autologisitcs Central European Conference in Gdansk, Poland that took place June 21-22, 2005.
