American Axle to Launch Advanced Technology Development Center in Detroit

Aug. 4, 2014
The Advanced Technology Development Center will cost $15 million to $20 million and will create 75 to 100 jobs.

American Axle & Manufacturing (IW 500/278) this fall will launch an Advanced Technology Development Center at its Detroit headquarters.

The manufacturer of automobile driveline and drivetrain components will invest $15 million to $20 million in the center, David Dauch, chairman, president and CEO of AAM, announced during the opening session of the Center for Automotive Research Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City, Mich.

The Advanced Technology Development Center will take two to three years to build, will create 75 to 100 jobs, and will be used for technology benchmarking, prototype development and advanced technology development.

The center will be a success, Dauch said, if the company is able to have flawless product launches of new technologies.
