Motor Decisions Matter Efficiency Campaign Expansion Launched

Estimating tools, how-to guides, case studies and incentives information now available for companies considering facilities upgrades

A coalition of motor manufacturers, sales and service centers, utilities and government agencies recently launched an expanded online version of the Motor Decisions Matter (MDM) campaign with new tools and resources to help companies manage motor fleets, estimate costs for energy-efficiency upgrades and plan ahead for motor replacements.

Included on the MDM Web site are the following resources, all available as free downloads:

  • Motor Planning Kit
  • 1-2-3 Approach to Motor Management
  • How-To Guide
  • MotorSlide Calculator
  • Simple Savings Chart

The MDM site has contacts, case studies, press releases and information and links concerning energy-efficiency incentive Programs for premium-efficiency motors and adjustable-speed drives.

The free summary includes information about assistance programs for integral horsepower motors, adjustable-speed drives and larger projects that include this equipment. Published by the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE), this summary describes 108 programs from 47 organizations in 28 states and Canadian provinces.
