ABB Wins $100 Million Gas Plant Contract in Oman

Plant will handle 4,500 standard cubic meters of gas condensate per day.

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has placed on order for ABB to build a gas condensate plant in Oman. ABB said on Tuesday that the contract was worth more than $100 million.

The new plant is to be built near the gas fields of Saih Nihayda and be able to handle 4,500 standard cubic meters of gas condensate per day, ABB said.

Gas condensate can be used to make both fuel and plastics.

The site is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014.
