CertainTeed Corp. will invest $100 million for manufacturing and distribution.

CertainTeed Corp. announced on Thursday that it plans to build a new Midwest production and distribution center in Jonesburg, Missouri.

The manufacturer of materials for commercial and residential builders will invest $100 million in a 60,000 square-foot manufacturing facility and a 150,000 square-foot warehouse creating 100 new jobs.

"The Jonesburg plant will play a strategic role in meeting the ongoing demand for CertainTeed roofing shingles in the Midwest and ensuring top-notch service to key customers," said Tom Smith, president of CertainTeed Roofing.

"Having been founded 108 years ago in nearby East St. Louis, CertainTeed has a special bond with the region and we are tremendously appreciative of the support we've received from Gov. Nixon, the Missouri Department of Economic Development, officials from Warren and Montgomery counties, and the city of Jonesburg," Smith added.

The state has offered the company a strategic economic incentive package if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria.
