Automotive Supplier JAC Products Announces Plant Closing

Job positions will be added in two other locations.

Automotive exterior trim producer JAC Products announced April 16 that it would close its Monclova, Ohio, plant in the spring of 2009 and shift programs from that plant to two other facilities. The company says it estimates that 120 positions will move to company facilities in either Georgia or Michigan.

European operations are unaffected by this move, the Pontiac, Mich.-based company said.

"This consolidation of operations is part of our ongoing efforts to continually improve our productivity, a prerequisite for success within the global automotive industry," explained JAC Products CEO Steve Morrey.

Morrey, who is also the company's president, joined JAC Products earlier this year. He was previously president and CEO of Dayton Superior Corp. in Dayton, Ohio.
