U.S. aerospace giant Boeing has seen a cancellation for an order of one of its 787 Dreamliner aircraft that had been placed by Azerbaijan Airlines.
The U.S. aircraft maker said Aug. 7 the order had been canceled and that Azerbaijan Airlines had now opted to purchase a 767 jet from Boeing instead.
Boeing made the announcement as it said that Azerbaijan Airlines had agreed to buy two 737-900ERs and two 767-300ERs in orders valued at a catalog price of $449 million.
"One of the 767s is a substitution for a previously ordered 787," one of three 787s Azerbaijan Airlines ordered, Boeing said.
Boeing earlier this year announced it was delaying planned deliveries of its new 787 fuel-efficient Dreamliner jet. The first deliveries, initially planned for the first half of 2008, have been pushed back to the third quarter of 2009.
