British Manufacturing Output Falls In January

Britain's manufactured output fell by 0.2% in January from the December figure, official data showed on March 9.

On a 12-month basis, manufactured output climbed 2% in January, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

"Ten of the 13 sub-sectors showed decreases in output, two increased and one remained unchanged," the ONS added. "Within the widespread falls seen on the month there were no significant decreases. However, there was one significant increase in output on the month in the machinery and equipment industries, where output increased by 1.7%."
