Manufacturers Alliance Partners With U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Manufacturing Initiative

MAPI hopes to reach out to broader business audience.

The Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI will provide the U.S. Chamber of Commerce with research on manufacturing issues to inform the wider business community about the importance of manufacturing in the overall economy, said the Chamber of Commerce Aug. 5.

Manufacturing research organization MAPI sees the partnership as an opportunity to reach out to the Chamber members who make up the nonmanufacturing community, says Stephen Gold, MAPI president and CEO.

"The manufacturing sector plays a vital role in boosting economic growth, and we need to get our message out to as wide an audience as possible, Gold said. The Chamber offers the broadest network and is the ideal partner to share the story on how manufacturing can create jobs and economic growth.

The two organizations have not yet determined which specific topics they will address in their research, Gold said. But the Chamber said MAPI will make available previously member-only research to senior-level Chamber executives.

The Chamber and MAPI will cover the research topics in an annual symposium that the organizations plan to co-host beginning this fall at the Chamber's headquarters in Washington, D.C.
