Solar Startup to Build Manufacturing Facility in Toronto Area

Facility will be operational in the first half of 2011.

Eclipsall Energy Corp. plans to invest more than $10 million (US $9.95 million) to build a new solar-panel manufacturing facility in Ontario.

The 64-megawatts-peak (MWp) production facility will be located in the greater Toronto area and will provide direct employment to more than 90 people, according to Eclipsall.

Company management expects the facility to be operational in the first half of 2011 and will consider expansion of the manufacturing line later in the year, the company said.

"As a management team, we are excited at the opportunity before us and our goal is to become an industry leader in Ontario," said Eclipsall founder Les Lyster. "We will work hard to ensure that the Eclipsall name is synonymous with high-quality manufacture of bankable solar panels. As a company, we are committed to helping create and sustain a greener Ontario."

Eclipsall was established in 2009 to coincide with the launch of Ontario's Green Energy Act.
