Product 2.0: Advantech Offers New Embedded Computer

Offers flexibility, ruggedness and "plug-and-forget" capability

Advantech recently introduced its Ultra Compact AMD Geode LX800 Embedded Computer model ARK-1370 for rugged and space-critical applications in automation control and wireless gateway applications. A solid sealed aluminum case provides vibration and water resistance, and also functions as a passive cooling solution. The ARK-1000 series provides System Integrators with a cost-effective turnkey solution and versatile application development path without missing time-to-market deadlines.

The ARK-1370 answers the demand for reduced maintenance and flexibility by offering four USB 2.0, one LVDS, one LAN port and two COM ports in a ruggedized unit and powered by an AMD Geode processor. Wireless connectivity can be added via the PC card slot for PCMCIA or CardBus cards. It also supports a wide range of input voltages from 9 VDC to 35 VDC.

The ARK-1370 is equipped with a solid state onboard CF card of up to 4 GB, so it easily passes 50 and 5 Grms shock and vibration tests. It excels in any environment where compact size and low power consumption are important. It also performs well for vehicle applications because of its shock and vibration resistance, as well as its tolerance to a wide range of power inputs. The ARK-1370 provides an industry standard turnkey solution with plug-and-forget capability.
