The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals released its newly revised SMRP standardized metrics in October.
"The data will start talking," Wise says.
"We have to work together as a whole team to improve reliability. It is never a good thing if we silo functions."
A lot of things need to come together for a maintenance turnaround to be successful. But it only takes one key misstep -- such as veering from the safety plan -- to sabotage it.
I have fallen off the blogging wagon but am now climbing back on. Maybe creating some standard work around this endeavor will help, so I am going to give it a try. Meanwhile, I have various bits of news to share...
"Restoring applications and data from backup is a long manual process that can take hours or even days to complete. In today's 24/7 manufacturing environment, that kind of prolonged downtime just isn't going to cut it."
While the increased production means good news for the auto manufacturers, it also seemingly means a reduction in another tradition of the summer shutdown: maintenance.
