U.S. manufacturers seeking to do business in China would do well to check with the U.S. Commerce Dept. and other federal agencies, says Matt McGee, vice president for global marketing at UPS Supply Chain Solutions. "The embassies, the commercial consulates, the Department of Commerce -- these guys have got programs, tremendous contacts and things of that nature out there," says McGee, who recently returned to the U.S. following five years in Asia. "A lot of [the] vetting has been done by the U.S. government."
