Lacking resources to design an in-house on line supply chain management system, many small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) are at a disadvantage relative to their larger counterparts. SCM Live might just solve that problem. SCM Live, a product of Mitrix, Inc of Irvine, California, requires no hardware or software to install. It is delivered via the Internet and provides companies with visibility to their supply chain on demand.

"SCM Live is designed to bring the same depth of functionality that large enterprises enjoy from their expensive and complex supply chain technology to the small and mid-sized enterprise market. The current processes that SMEs use to run their supply chains, such as fax, e-mail and excel spreadsheets, are simply not scalable, leaving them unable to respond to competitive pressures" said Edward Lewis, president and CEO of Mitrix, a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co.
