Business school offers professionals MBA in operational excellence.

Beginning in late 2008 The Ohio State University will offer a Masters of Business Operational Excellence program, said Peter Ward, a professor at the schools Fisher College of Business. Ward introduced the new program at the Lean Enterprise Institutes Lean Transformation Summit in Orlando on March 6. The program is designed to "educate the next generation of lean thinkers," Ward said. The one-year program will provide students with short, intense periods of on-campus learning as well as an integrated learning project that they will incorporate at their respective companies.

"The proposed delivery, which includes experimental learning via specific project assignments and short intensive classroom learning on campus, strikes an excellent balance," noted Karl Svendsen, vice president at industrial packaging manufacturer Greif Inc.'s Center of Excellence... You will be producing future leaders that the industry desperately needs."
