Skilled Talent: By The Numbers

Nearly half of U.S. manufacturers said they would have hired more staff if skilled talent were available.

A Manpower survey conducted in August 2006 of 32,000 employers across 26 countries and territories found that many employers had difficulty finding skilled labor.

29 Percent of manufacturers from 26 countries who would have hired more permanent professional staff over a previous six-month period if they could have found candidates with the right skills.

25 Percent of manufacturers who say talent shortages are causing their organizations to pay higher salaries/compensation for professional positions compared with the previous year.

45 Percent of U.S. manufacturers who would have hired more permanent professional staff over a previous six-month period if they could have found more candidates with the right skills.
