Charlie is the technical director of Manufacturing Industry Solutions at Google Cloud where he focuses on developing next generation AI & ML solutions for manufacturers. He has over 25 years of international industry experience, with a strong focus on addressing the critical technology challenges in the cyber-physical world. He holds eight patents on IoT technologies and has co-authored two books on data center and IT energy efficiency strategies. He has participated in EU Commission projects as technical advisor and established two large scale industry / academic collaborative research programs with world-leading universities. He is a strong advocate of industry collaboration and represents Google at the OPC Foundation.
