In Korea it will be 3.8% compared with 11.7%. Hong Kong and Thailand will see average salary increases of 4.5% compared with increases of 10% or more in 1997. Raises in the U.S. are expected to average between 4.1% and 4.5%, about one-half percentage point above those in the United Kingdom and France and one percentage point higher than those in Germany.
