Compiled ByDoug Bartholomew True wireless applications for business -- not just checking stock prices and e-mail -- are gathering momentum. Jumping into this market with both feet is Invensys CRM, a provider of customer relationship management software for business, which earlier this month launched a wireless product configuration system for sales forces. "We see many of our customers moving to a mobile CRM model," says Bob Karulf, president and CEO of Invensys CRM, based in Golden, Colo. Invensys' has packaged its eConfiguration software for use on PCs, laptops, and personal digital assistants (PDAs). The company already has extended its product configuration package to run on the Pocket PC platform. "Most of our customers use Microsoft Windows-based applications," says Don Brower, vice president of product management for Invensys CRM. "The important thing here is the ability to run product models across all three platforms -- client-server, Web-enabled, and Pocket PC." Invensys CRM belongs to Invensys PLC, a maker of automation systems, control systems, power systems, and software. Invensys CRM includes the former Aurum Software unit of Baan Co. It is part of the Invensys PLC Software Systems division, which includes iBaan and Wonderware.
