Some 1,000 futurists from around the world will meet in Chicago July 19-21 to discuss forthcoming developments in technology, business, and other areas. "FutureQuest: Strategies for the New Millennium" will be held at the Chicago Hilton Hotel & Towers. The futurists will hear presentations by more than 200 experts. John L. Petersen, president of the Arlington Institute, a futurist research firm, will lead a session called "The Y2K Problem: What's Really Likely to Happen." William Halal, director of George Washington University's Forecast of 85 Emerging Technologies for 2001-2030, will discuss the technology revolution and the future of space exploration.
