The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has dipped into the ranks of small business for its new chairman. William G. Little, president and CEO of Quam-Nichols Co., a 130-employee manufacturer of commercial and industrial audio products located in inner-city Chicago, was elected to the post at the Chambers annual meeting Jan. 23 in Washington. Previously a two-term chairman of another giant Washington-based business group--the Electronic Industries Assn.--Little moves up from his position as the Chambers vice chairman. He succeeds Michael D. Starnes, chairman and CEO of M.S. Carriers Inc., a Memphis-based trucking firm. Little will serve a 15-month term.
