While raw materials and components make up big portions of manufacturers' purchases, dollars spent on purchasing services still can add up. Recognizing that, the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) will host "The Services Picture: Bringing the Spend into Focus," a two-day conference slated for Dec. 4-5, 2003, in Scottsdale, Ariz. The event is directed toward both manufacturers and nonmanufacturers. This fourth annual presentation will discuss the challenges of purchasing services, from low-cost, routine buys to high-dollar expenses like consulting services, the conference agenda notes. The program includes six general sessions, four concurrent sessions, a roundtable discussion and networking opportunities. Attendees can earn 9.5 continuing education hours.
