AIM, the Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility, announced that it will launch the AIM Outreach Initiative, a program to deliver automatic identification and mobility education to solutions providers and enterprise customers. The Warrendale, Pa.-based trade association said the initiative will launch in conjunction with its annual meeting being held March 9-11 in Atlanta. AIM says that a "marked increase" in demand for up-to-date information on radio frequency identification (RFID) and bar-code compliance programs is driving its outreach initiative. The 2004 initiative will focus on applications in transportation, logistics, security, health care and overall supply-chain management. It will include conferences, exhibitions and electronic materials that will be presented throughout the year. Among its initial events is "RFID Technology in Transportation Logistics," which is slated for March 11 in Atlanta. The event is part of the outreach initiative's programs aimed at end users. AIM is a global trade organization comprised of providers and users of automatic identification technologies. Its goal is to promote the adoption of the technologies.
