Enterprise softwaremaker Qad Inc., headquartered in Carpinteria, Calif., issued an initial public offering of shares the first week of August. The company sold 5.75 million shares at $15 apiece.
Analysts say that other enterprise-applications software providers expected to go public this year include J. D. Edwards & Co. in Denver, which already has filed with the SEC for what is expected to be a September offering. Finally, Lawson Software, Minneapolis, also is a likely candidate to go public later this year, according to Bruce Richardson, vice president of Advanced Manufacturing Research in Boston.
