Inventors, small manufacturers, or anyone who believes that he or she has created the next hot product may want to investigate a contest underway by the National Mail Order Assn. The Minneapolis-based association is searching for the best new products made in America. "Once again we're searching every state in the Union to find the best products made right here in America," says NMOA Chair John Schulte. "With serious competition from foreign imports, American manufacturers need all the assistance they can get." Manufacturers of any size have until Dec. 31, 2001, to submit entries to the contest, with winners being announced early in 2002. There is a $20 processing fee for each product entered. All valid entries will be featured in the NMOA's newsletter, Mail Order Digest, which is read by mail-order companies, catalog companies, infomercial companies, and other direct marketers that may be in search of new products to bring to market. The winning entries also will be featured on the association's Web site for a year. Additional information about the contest is available at the NMOA Web site.
