Compiled ByDeborah Austin Companies needing extra logistics manpower this summer can "test drive" a university-level logistics student, in a "first annual" intern recruiting program through career/recruiting site JobsInLogistics.com, says its CEO Don Firth. Under the program, supported by colleges and universities offering logistics-related curricula, employers can post summer intern jobs free on the site. Such programs give logistics students real-world experience, says Firth. They also give employers first crack at potential top-notch employees: Interns who've proven a good fit and gained inside experience with a company can be recruited upon graduation. JobsInLogistics.com -- headquartered in Miami Beach -- is a career and recruiting Web site for the logistics, supply-chain, transportation, and distribution-management professions, with more than 2,000 registered employers and search firms.
